## Maia runner version support policy

Matillion provides two update tracks for its {m_runner}—**Current** and **Stable**—so customers can choose a release cadence that aligns with their requirements. This policy defines which versions in each track are supported.

### Current track

* **Release frequency:** Weekly or more frequently.
* **Supported versions:**
  * Latest release in the Current track.
  * One release immediately preceding the latest in the Current track.
* **Fixes:** Hotfixes and patches apply only to the latest Current release.
* **Who should choose this track?** Organizations that want access to new features as soon as they're available, and can accommodate frequent update cycles.

### Stable track

* **Release frequency:** Monthly.
* **Supported versions:**
  * Latest release in the Stable track.
  * One release immediately preceding the latest in the Stable track.
* **Fixes:** Hotfixes and patches apply only to the latest Stable release.
* **Who should choose this track?** Organizations that prefer a slower, more predictable update cadence, and benefit from a slightly older release that has been vetted for stability.

### Definition of "supported"

For a version within the official support window (the latest release and one prior) on either track:

* Matillion investigates and assists with reported issues.
* If a fix is necessary, the customer may be asked to upgrade to the latest release in the chosen track.

Versions outside support:

* Any release older than the immediately preceding version in each track is considered unsupported.
* Customers on older releases operate at their own risk. Matillion may ask the customer to update if support is required.

### Why this policy?

By focusing support on the latest release and the prior release of each track, Matillion ensures:

* Timely fixes and improvements for our customers.
* Predictable, straightforward upgrade paths.
* Efficient and reliable support aligned with modern best practices.
